Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts' Alumnus, Rohan Brown Plays in the NCAA for LaSalle University
Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts' very own, Rohan Brown played in the NCAA for LaSalle University last month. He was a Kinsella studenand a leader of the Roots & Shoots Environmental Club. Through his leadership, the projects were accepted by the United Nations and they were invited to attend the United Nations Childrens' Summit in Japan. Rohan Brown and seven other students attended this summit in Japan with three Hartford educators. At that time, Rohan represented his country, state, city and school in the most favorable light. He is a stellar person and wonderful example of what can happen when we believe in our young people. He and his mother texted Kinsella's Christine Tocionis, 8th grade ELA Teacher and Middle School Team Leader to sya that his team made it to the tournament.
Staff and students at Kinsella School of Performing Arts wore the yellow and royal blue colors of the LaSalle University basketball team along with stickers bearing Rohan Brown’s name and his #35. Banners, wishing him luck in LaSalle’s Sweet 16 game against Wichita State, were be posted all over the school. More significantly, every class took time out during the school day to learn how one of their own successfully transitioned to college and is managing the rigors of being a Division I student athlete.
