Letitia Colon de Mejias Visits Hope Academy for Career Panel
Letitia Colon de Mejias visited Hope Academy as part of a career panel that the program held on October 18, 2022 to expose their students to multiple careers and different career paths.
They invited Ms. Colon de Mejias who could share information about her roles as author and environmentalist. Also present were a doula, aerospace engineer, co-owner of The Sneaker Company in Manchester,
film director, specialist from The Urban League, real estate agent, and a forensic scientist.
Students rotated in groups and spoke to each professional about their respective career paths, how they got there, what schooling looked like.
Assistant Principal, Jennifer F. Rizzo states, “Ms. Colon de Mejias wants to work with our students again and wants to come in to run some science lessons in the spring. We hope to do another panel in the spring as well.”
