Louis W. Batchelder School Commemorates September 11th with their First Annual Day of Kindness

Ms. Kirk’s first grade class created angels using their hands as wings and writing how they could be someone’s angel.

Students and staff at the Louis W. Batchelder School commemorated September 11th with their first annual Day of Kindness.  Prior to September 11th, teachers and students discussed what kindness means as well as acts of kindness everyone could perform.  Students used a template of a hand, cut it out, wrote their acts and/or thoughts about kindness, and each class created a display.  The annual Day of Kindness will be celebrated each year to honor the heroes of September 11, 2001 and to ensure that some goodness results from the tragedy.  We hope other schools will join us!
