Mayor Segarra Visits Clark School in Support of Third Grade Promise

On November 30, 2012 Mayor Pedro Segarra visited JC Clark Elementary and Middle School to help support Hartford Public School’s Third Grade Promise.  Mayor Segarra observed the United Way’s volunteer reading program.  This programs provides one-on-one reading assistance to children in order to increase their academic performance so by the end of third grade they can “read to learn” instead of “learn to read”.  The Mayor also visited with primary students stressing the importance of reading.
