Milner School Attends the Big E as Attendance Incentive:
The Big E and Community Partners, Catholic Charities and Christian Activities Council Sponsor 275 Parents and Students to a Family Day Trip to the Big E.

Under Principal Karen Lott's leadership, this initiative took form in July. Principal Lott formed partnerships with community partners and solicited donations to fund the trip.  After she secured funds, the planning was underway.  The Attendance committee and the PBIS team at Milner School hosted the campaign that started the 1st day of school.  Families were notified though ROBO calls and during the Back to School BBQ about this amazing opportunity.  All students who achieved perfect attendance during the first month of school Aug 25, 2015 – Sept 18, 2015 would receive free admission for the student and one adult guardian to attend the BIG E!!!!! Transportation would be provided as well.
The participation was outstanding!!!!  There was a 75% increase TY vs LY for the same time period.  August 25, 2015 – Sept. 18, 2015 204 students had perfect attendance

Same period LY 125 students had perfect attendance.  Principal Lott is confident this parent and family initiative will bridge the gap between families, and build viable relationships with home and school. The success of this program will yield endless benefits.  A trip like this is guaranteed to assist Milner Families FOSTER A LOVE FOR LEARNING!!!!
