Montessori Magnet at Moylan and McDonough’s Heart Ambassadors/Students Surpass their Goal!

Published on May 19, 2016

Three students in one of Montessori Magnet at Moylan/McDonough Lower Elementary Classes prepared and did a presentation in each of our 5 elementary classrooms prior to Jump Rope For Heart Week (4/4 – 4/8) explaining; What, Why, Where and When.

These three Lower Elementary students presented information to each of our 5 Elementary (grades 1st- 5th) classrooms prior to Jump Rope For Heart Week.  They participated in counting jumps (students and teachers) and jumping rope during our JFH Event on Wednesday (4/6) and they helped hang the beautiful “Art for Hearts” art work students worked on for over a month with our Art teacher Ms. Spector. The art is located in our lobby and hall. They also decorated “Change For Heart”  collection jars – one for the McDonough Campus and one for the Moylan campus. Spare change was collected for the week.

The students helped count the total donation (a little over $60) but decided to keep the jars out for another week to reach their new goal of $100.

The students collected a total of $120.53!!!!

They reached and surpassed their goal!

Thank you to everybody that donated!

They met with JoAnn from American Heart Association on Thursday to give her the donation themselves. To show appreciation for all of their efforts the girls received Jump Rope for Heart shirts, “Heart Ambassador” buttons and jump ropes to bring home.
