Otis Service Center Donates PPE to Milner Middle School
Employees from Otis Service Center in Bloomfield donated more than 5,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other health and safety supplies to Hartford Public Schools’ Milner Middle School on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
This is an ongoing partnership which was established last school year when Otis supported Milner’s back to school initiatives with school supplies and volunteers. The partners also discussed potential for Otis engineers to work with Milner STEM teachers and robotics students.
This year, donations include more than 400 bottles of sanitizer, 800 reusable cloth masks, 4,000 disposable masks and two infrared thermometers. Otis is also in the process of acquiring bottled waters for our students and teachers to be used throughout the day.
“We are honored to partner with such a successful organization and the benefits we can both enjoy. OTIS would like to support Hartford Public Schools STEM initiatives in grades 6 – 12 through robotics, engineering and manufacturing workshops, and possible visits to their headquarters. Our students that are in person and virtual will receive these supplies immediately for their use. Milner Middle School students, staff, families, and community members are thankful for OTIS continued support,” stated Milner Middle School Principal Leanardo Watson.

“We’re glad to support these students and their education while helping to keep them, school staff and their families safe in these challenging times. This donation is an example of Otis’ commitment to doing our part to shape the world we live in,” said Angelo Adams, senior director of service operations at the Otis Service Center.
