Pathways Academy of Technology and Design Ecommerce Class Takes First Place in the State Wide Ecommerce Competition

Congratulations to Pathways Academy of Technology and Design Ecommerce class who recently took first place in the State Wide Ecommerce Competition at this year’s Student Innovation Expo held at the Hartford Convention Center on May 4. Students were required to create an ecommerce business focused on the theme of human centered design. Students using their project based learning skills collaborated to create IIntelletech a company whose goal is to develop student management applications and services that contribute to streamlining school-related processes. The two products created included a bus app and a radio frequency identification band that can be used for attendance, locker  and cafeteria integration, and distribution of books to name a few. Pathways students rose to the occasion and created a website, a business plan, marketing materials, video commercials, animated bands, and a prototype of both the app and the RFID scanning device. Students were also required to create a booth display where they were drilled with questions about their business. Lastly, two students delivered a three minute business proposal to a panel of business executives and CEO’s. Pathways thanks Mr. Griffin for his dedication to students and enthusiasm for the entrepreneurial spirit.
