Pathway’s Assistant Principal Earns NAF Honor

Pathway’s Assistant Principal Earns NAF Honor

Dr. Jessica Fitzgerald, Assistant Principal, Pathways Academy of Technology & Design is one of this year’s recipients of the Janet Linton Leadership Award from the National Academy Foundation, or NAF for exhibiting extraordinary leadership and achieving tremendous success.

NAF states on Facebook: Dr. Fitzgerald is passionate about equity in education and providing opportunities for students from underrepresented populations. As Assistant Principal at Pathways Academy of Technology & Design in Hartford Public Schools, Hartford, CT, Dr. Fitzgerald provides students with a holistic high school experience, connecting the classroom to the world of work through internships, worksite visits, and innovative educational programs.

Her leadership in strengthening the quality of her students’ education and the opportunities available to them has resulted in her academy reaching Distinguished level for the last 6 years.

Congratulations, Dr. Jessica Fitzgerald!

NAF is a national network of education, business, and community leaders who work together to ensure high school students are college, career, and future ready.

NAF’s educational design ignites students’ passion for learning and gives businesses the opportunity to shape America’s future workforce by transforming the learning environment to include STEM infused industry-specific curricula and work-based learning experiences, including internships.

Since 1982, NAF has been partnering with high-need communities to improve outcomes for students by implementing NAF academies – small learning communities within existing high schools.

NAF is thrilled to announce this year’s recipients of the Janet Linton Leadership, Advisory Board Champions, and Alumni Awards! Each one of these individuals has exhibited extraordinary leadership and achieved tremendous success. Congratulations to this year’s winners! We are grateful for your continued commitment to NAF’s mission and can’t wait to highlight you at the Celebration Dinner on July 9, 2019. Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations this year.
