Read Across America Day at Burns Latino Studies Academy
Read Across America Day at Burns Latino Studies Academy was an amazing ,fun filled morning with nineteen volunteer readers from the United Way /AETNA team. We began our morning wth the arrival of our readers. They were greeted by students from grades PK- 5 .
The volunteers read Dr Seuss stories and worked with classes to complete Seuss based reading activities. Our morning culminated with an appreciation breakfast, sponsored by the Burns Staff. Our assistant principal Melissa Ross was our resident Cat in the Hat. Our students and staff enjoyed and appreciated our volunteers efforts. What a way to instill the love of reading!
