Renzulli Academy Reaches Silver in Inaugural MathCounts Season

This winter, the Renzulli Academy began a MathCounts program. MathCounts has two parts: a club and a national competition. The club met once a week after school in January and February. Twenty students in grades five through eight participated by playing math games, solving math puzzles and working on math problems. The club reached the Silver Level of achievement because of the participants’ excellent attendance and sharp problem-solving skills.

On February 2, 2013, five seventh and eight grade Renzulli students, selected by volunteer MathCounts coaches Ms. Teitelbaum and Ms. Montelli, participated in the district competition at the University of Hartford.   Hannah Desmarais, Rahzahn Bordeaux, Natiel Cooper, Urvi Walia, and Pranav Peddibhotla did a great job representing the school in their first MathCounts competition.
