Thenoa Davis-Googe (Sherri), Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining the Superintendent’s Cabinet in the role of Chief Operating Officer, Sherri Davis-Googe was Hartford Public Schools Executive Director of School Choice.

Mrs. Davis-Googe has 20 years of experience in program management, evaluation, research, and information technology.  She has experience in all levels of government: Federal, State, and Local, as well as the non-profit sector.

Ms. Davis-Googe has committed over 20 years to the development and implementation of operational systems and protocols that work to ensure children are afforded the best education possible; 13 of those years have been with Hartford Public Schools. In 2001, she joined Hartford Public Schools in the Department of Assessment, Evaluation and Research, and later joined Metro Hartford Information Services. From there she held HPS leadership roles in the Office of Operations as Transportation Director and Assistant Director of School Choice. In 2014, she became the Director of New Haven Public Schools Office of Choice & Enrollment and rejoined HPS in 2018 as the Executive Director of Enrollment and School Choice. Ms. Davis-Googe describes herself as an operations person driven by data who respects the power of engagement. Her experiences make her uniquely qualified to support a seamless transition.

She earned her M.A. in Education (Curriculum & Instruction) from the University of Saint Joseph and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts (English Major/Education Minor) from Howard University.
