Shontá Browdy

Shontá Browdy is a Hartford native and proud mother of two.  Her oldest, a graduate of the Hartford Public Schools, and her youngest is currently being educated in the Hartford Public School system. She attended Hartford Public Schools and is a proud graduate of Thomas Snell Weaver High School. Shontá has served on School Governance Councils, PTO’s and facilitated many education forums across the city. For years her advocacy work has been centered on children receiving an education that will equip them for a successful life and for families to better understand the educational system. She is the Assistant Secretary for The Greater Hartford NAACP branch and Executive Committee Member of The CT Conference NAACP.  Shontá also serves as Secretary for both The Greater Hartford African American Alliance and The Hartford Police Accountability Board. She felt the need to serve on the Hartford School Board after working in the Hartford Public School system and gaining a better understanding of the successes and struggles.
