Students Invited to Youth Empowerment Summit

Hartford students, ages 13-19, are invited to attend a free Youth Empowerment Summit organized by CT Against Gun Violence (CAGV), a non-partisan group focused on reducing gun violence through public education and legislative advocacy.

The conference includes keynote addresses by Mike Lawlor, a criminal justice professor and former state representative, and Esam Boraey, an activist who participated in the Arab Spring. There will also be workshops centered on how laws are passed, how to give testimony at a legislative hearing, grassroots organizing, and more.
