Global Communications Ribbon Cutting
Global Communications Academy Celebrates the Dedication of its New Building
In 2008, three women sat in a small office together with a shared vision – to design and develop an International Baccalaureate School in Hartford for Hartford children and youth. Dr. Christina Kishimoto was joined by Kimberly Stone-Keaton, a long-time successful educator in Hartford and Connie Coles, an employee of the Say Yes to Education Foundation and an alum of Weaver High School in Hartford. Together, they took a powerful dream and concept and expanded the team to a group of dedicated parents, teachers and staff who worked together from 2008 until today to deliver on this exceptional school design. On September 18th they celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the IB Global Communications Academy, a 132,500 square foot, $55 million dollar educational facility for Hartford children in grades K through 12. Together we did it!
