The Doors of Batchelder School – 2

Mrs.Martin, a third grade teacher at Batchelder Elementary School's door for Read Across America was inspired by Dr. Seuss' story, "What was I scared of?" (The green pants with nobody inside them). Her students read the book and talked about overcoming a fear they had. The door had a sign, " We hang our fears out to dry". The students decorated pants with a fear that they overcame. The pants were made of two sheets of paper. On the inside, students wrote about their fears, and what they did to overcome that fear. The completed pants were hung on a clothesline, attached to the door.
