The FUTURE:  Now Taking Applications

The Lottery season has been a busy one to date, with thousands of families applying to Hartford District and Magnet Schools.   Did you know that Hartford runs the 2012 Number One Magnet High School in the Country, and the 2011 Number One Magnet School in the Country, as designated by Magnet Schools of America?  That the U.S. Department of Education recognizes our STEM school as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School?
Did you know that Hartford Public Schools runs the only public school in Connecticut that offers Mandarin Chinese study from pre-K through grade 8?  Or that one of our high schools has an agreement with the Connecticut Public Broadcasting network that has seniors attending school right in their building?
Hartford Public Schools has educational opportunities and resources that have put it at the forefront of school reform in the country.  We offer more educational opportunities to Hartford resident and suburban families than any other district in the region.  No matter what your child wants to do or be, Hartford Public Schools can help you prepare for your child’s future.
Remember, if your child is in a transitional grade (defined as the entry grade in a school, like Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten or the last grade in a school, like 8th grade in a K – Grade 8 school) it is especially important for you to fill out a lottery application.
Take the time to explore what Hartford Schools has to offer.  Visit for more information, to review our Future Guide or to apply to the Lottery.
Remember, the application deadline is January 31, 2013!
