Three HPHS Nursing Academy Students Graduate from University of CT Health Center Dept. of Health Career Opportunities Program known as Aetna Health Professions Partnership Initiative (HPPI)

On May 7, 2013, at 7PM, the University of CT Health Center Dept. of Health Career Opportunities Program known as Aetna Health Professions Partnership Initiative (HPPI) held their graduation ceremony in Patterson Auditorium.

16 senior students graduated from the program including three of our own. Ms. Tiarra Payge, Ms. DebbyAnn Jackson, and Ms. Cristal Vasquez. All of the graduates are going to college and pursuing health care careers.

The keynote speaker was Mayor Pedro Segarra and Dr. Grenville Wrensford (he is on our advisory board), spoke to the students and also honored Ms. Lekeisha Williams (SAT coordinator and instructor) for her acceptance to medical school. She has been a wonderful role model and mentor for our students.

It was a very nice tribute to these students who went to class for 6 weeks last summer and on Saturdays through out the school year. Debby Ann Jackson also won a book award.

Congratulations to all.  If you see them, please congratulate them!!
