“Inspiration Cycle” Seminars organized by Advocates of Classical Magnet

“Advocates of Classical Magnet” are continuing the “Inspiration Cycle” of seminars for the Hartford Classical Magnet students and public. We are honored to have Professor Pramod Srivastava, Professor of Medicine and Immunology and Director of the Neag Cancer Center at the UConn Medical School, give the seminar on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 1:45 pm with the title: “Curing Cancer”.

The “Inspiration Cycle” aims to be a forum for our students and the public to interact with and learn from world renowned scientists, Pulitzer winning writers, senior Diplomats and other award-winning industry experts. This new program aims to highlight the dedication and engagement of our leadership, students and staff and ensure that in spite of budgetary constraints our students are not deprived of valuable learning opportunities, and life changing skills.

Classical Magnet School, the only regionally accredited magnet school, is a best kept secret. Its college preparatory liberal arts curriculum develops 6th through 12th grade students into intellectual, compassionate, philanthropic, and reverent young adults. Additionally, it offers a wealth of extracurricular activities such as athletics, theater, music, debate club, documentary filmmaking, and mock trials, in addition to a number of clubs. We boast a 96% graduation rate with 94% of our students attending colleges that include Ivy League schools.

Our Classical Magnet students and school have achieved numerous awards with many students participating in state and national competitions and programs including in National History Day, National Latin Exam, All American High School Film Festival, Civic Life Project Documentary Film Festival, Connecticut State Art Competition in the categories of Drawing, Digital Art, Ceramics, Photography and Painting, Halo Awards for Theater productions, American Association of Physics Teachers and Math Counts Competition. Classical Magnet has the largest National Junior Classical League (“NJCL”) membership in Connecticut with over 100 students.

Advocates of Classical Magnet is a charitable organization organized for the benefit of the Classical Magnet School students.
