United Technologies Sponsors Family Fairs at Three Community Schools as part of United Way Day of Caring

On September 12, 2013, United Technologies volunteers hosted Family Fairs at three Community Schools as part of the annual United Way Day of Caring. The events included activities for both children and families, including face painting, arts and crafts and free books.  All three fairs were outdoors and in tents, and the volunteers served delicious dinners to hundreds of students and their families.

At Burns Latino Studies Academy, the participants completed Community Aspiration Cards and wrote down what they want for their Frog Hollow neighborhood.

At Asian Studies Academy Bellizzi, the parents signed an attendance pledge and children were treated to popsicles from the Ice Cream for a Dream truck.

At A.E. Burr School, families received information on energy assistance programs and learned more about the services at the Family Financial Center.

Over 160 of volunteers participated by facilitating the hands-on activities and serving food to the numerous children and families in attendance.
