United Way and HPS Bring Over 60 Hartford Readers to KIndergarten Classrooms to JumpStart Reading for the Record!
The Office of Early Literacy & Parent Engagement cordially invites you to take part in our annual national Jumpstart Read for the Record celebration. Last year, the campaign set a world record for the largest shared experience with more than 2 million people reading Otis by Loren Long all on the same day.
We want to thank Mr. Guillaume Gendre, Principal at Naylor CCSU Leadership Academy, for his gracious offer to host the Kick-Off for the event at 8:30 a.m. onTuesday, October 21st.
This is a very special day for our elementary schools and our students because it offers us the opportunity to visit them and support their work around literacy, the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading and the district’s Third Grade Promise.
We are looking for district volunteers to read in Kindergarten classrooms. You will be reading Bunny Cakes by Rosemary Wells.
