University High School of Science and Engineering Student Wins Place in Guinness World Records as Fastest Puzzle-Assembler

Deepika Ravichandran – Grade 11 is our new Guinness World Record – Puzzle Competition Holder logging in at 13 min and 7 seconds.  This beats the current record holder of 13 minutes and 14 seconds.

Deepika put together a 250 piece puzzle here at UHSSE today in the media center. As her fingers put together the puzzle at warp speed, excitement grew to a crescendo of cheers and hollers of well wishes from those who watched.

You can see her work her magic on Channel 3's website.

"We all know that puzzling is a fun activity, however, there's much more to it than that.  It is a wonderful non-traditional educational tool that assists students to develop great concentration and focus.  It underscores higher order thinking:  Solving puzzles allows students to take pieces, put them together and see the whole picture.  This is exactly what we want them to do in life." ~Francia Prescott

Congratulations Deepika on a job well done.  Your dedication and focus paid off with this wonderful win and great achievement.
