Martin Luther King, Jr., Community Day: Art & Activism

10 AM – 5 PM, FREE
How can art change the world? Join us for a day of artful celebration in hoanor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other peaceful activists. Free family-friendly activities include interactive performances, tours, hands-on art-making, and a self-guided activity focusing on artists in the Medieval to Monet exhibition.

Second Saturdays for Families: Harlem Renaissance

10 AM- 1 PM, FREE
Today’s collaboration with The Amistad Center for Art & Culture highlights Black History Month and the creativity of artists, musicians, and poets of the Harlem Renaissance. Dance with Equilibrium Dance Theater and listen to live jazz while you make an interpretive mixed media collage.

Second Saturdays for Families: Dragons, Gremlins & Magical Creatures

10 AM- 1 PM, FREE
Stop at the museum before or after the Hartford St. Patrick’s Day parade to find magical and mischievous creatures in art. Make a headdress or elf ears to wear to the parade and listen to fairy tales and Irish music in the galleries!
