Wish School End-of-Year Successes

Wish School had 3 successful and well attended Arts Exhibition Nights when the school was turned into a museum of student projects and performances. Students served as docents.

Our 8th grade boys answered every question correctly during the 3rd Annual African and African American History Bee.

Wish School set a goal to reduce our suspensions to 60 for the 2017-2018 school year. (We had 89 OSS incidents for the 2016-2017 school year.)  We surpassed that mark, and currently we have had only 37 OSS incidents for 2017-18! We began using restorative circles that included staff and families. The circles were harm-focused and dug deep at the root of the behavior and how that made the participants feel. These circles have helped there to be fewer students repeating negative behavior.

Congratulations, Wish School on an extraordinary year!
