WQTQ Now Offers Online Streaming

WQTQ “Qute” 89.9 FM, which has operated from Weaver High School for nearly 50 years, recently started online streaming from its new website at www.wqtq.fm.

In late November, the station started streaming online for the first time. Listeners can now tune in from any device, anywhere. This will allow the station to reach far beyond the thousands in Hartford County who listen in every day. To get a sampling, visit the station’s website and click Listen. You can also download the TuneIn app or tune in via Alexa by saying, “Alexa, tune in to WQTQ 89.9 FM Hartford”.

A community station, WQTQ offers a mix that includes R&B, Rap, Gospel, Jazz, and Talk. The station also shares a weekly calendar of community announcements, services, and events. WQTQ is distinct among high school radio stations for its urban contemporary format and the fact that the station is operated at an urban high school campus. It also complements the district’s educational goals by providing a training ground for Weaver students who are part of the Media and Journalism pathway and interested in broadcasting careers.

WQTQ 89.9 FM is a broadcast service of Hartford Public Schools.
