Overview:
Mission:
The mission of Fred D. Wish Museum School is to L.E.A.D. our students to LEARN, EXPLORE, ACHIEVE, and DISCOVER their dreams and goals. They will LEARN to be critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and independent and collaborative learners; EXPLORE the world by exposure to museum-related activities; ACHIEVE positive results through hard work and persistence; and ultimately DISCOVER their dreams and goals.
Theme:
Wish students' academic and social skills are strengthened through active learning. Students at each grade level participate in several museum excursions during the course of the school year. These visits form the base of ongoing student work: they research, write, and analyze various points of view, solve problems, and engage in collaborative decision-making as they create their own museum exhibits relating to various curriculum content areas.
Philosophy:
The Staff Members of Fred D. Wish Museum School believe that children will maximize their academic potential in a warm, child-centered learning environment. We fully understand the importance of being caring and nurturing as we educate our students and challenge them to high academic achievement. We continually reach out to parents and the community, embracing broader involvement in the education process.
