On December 3, Superintendent Dr. Andraé Townsel met with each new and returning member of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council for the 2025-2026 school year. The Council, which is made up of 22 high schoolers, gathered this week to meet with district leaders, the CT Black & Brown Student Union, the CT Youth Summit rep, and the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) to prepare for their year of service as student representatives.
This month, students self-nominated and elected two members of the Council to act as their Board of Education representatives for the year. Each month, these representatives will meet with me to share topics and issues that are most pressing to their peers. You will get to meet them at our December 16 Board of Education meeting.
