Hometown Hartford
Trinity College and Hartford’s shared history span more than two centuries. Through Hometown Hartford, Trinity is deepening its commitment to our home city by making a transformative education more accessible to students from the capital city.
On September 4, 2026, Trinity College announced that admitted students from Hartford will receive a Capital City Grant covering the full cost of tuition, room, and board. While fees are not covered by the grant, students seeking additional need-based aid should complete Trinity’s financial aid application process.
Students whose primary residence is Hartford may be eligible whether they attend Hartford Public Schools, a CREC school, an independent school, or another school outside the city.
More Financial Aid May Be Available
Trinity meets 100 percent of every admitted student’s calculated financial need. Students receiving a Centered in Connecticut or Capital City Grant may qualify for additional assistance based on their individual circumstances.
Students who wish to be considered for need-based financial aid must complete Trinity’s financial aid application process.
