Hartford Public Schools is committed to providing engaging school options for our beautiful and capable students. Our school choices include specialized district schools and theme-based magnet schools; each offers a unique curriculum that prepares our students to be successful in school and beyond. Additional opportunities are offered through our partnerships with the CT State Department of Education’s Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) and other educational providers.
The HPS District Choice Placement process assigns Hartford students to Hartford neighborhood schools. This process also allows parents some choice as to where their students attend school and engages Hartford resident students that are new, returning or seeking to transfer to another school for the upcoming school year. Students currently enrolled in a transitional grade (students entering grades 6 or 9) are not required to apply as they are assigned to their next school based on their resident address.Dates to Know:

- Extended Application Period: April 15, 2024 – June 14, 2024
