Great Path Academy at CT State Manchester

I am very proud to announce that the Magnet Schools of America has awarded Great Path Academy a 2026 National Merit School of Distinction Award for the third year in a row. The Magnet School of America Merit Awards recognize member magnet schools and programs that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, desegregation/diversity efforts, specialized teaching staff, and parent and community involvement. A special thank you to our School Governance Council and our partners with CT State Manchester and ReadyCT for their commitment to our school community.

This honor for the third year in a row is a testament to the daily dedication of our students and staff at Great Path Academy! Being named a School of Distinction confirms that our community is successfully meeting high academic expectations and fostering an environment where every student can thrive.

College Success Today: Through our partnership with CT State Manchester, our students aren't just "preparing" for college—they are living it. By earning tuition-free college credits and utilizing college resources now, they are saving time and money while building the confidence to succeed in higher education.

A National Network: As a member of the Middle College National Consortium, we remain at the forefront of a nationwide movement of 50 schools dedicated to college access.

Career Readiness: Our collaboration with ReadyCT ensures that learning extends beyond the classroom. From paid internships to job shadow days, we are making sure our students graduate with the "work-ready" skills the modern world demands.

To receive a national merit award, members of Magnet Schools of America must submit a detailed application that is scored by a panel of educators. These schools are judged and scored on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.
