HMTCA Announces Winners of Its First Annual Core Values Writing Competition

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (HMTCA) is proud to congratulate the winners of its first annual Core Values writing competition, an event that invited students to put into words the beliefs that guide our school community.

The competition was created by senior Liliana Pisano as part of her Senior Capstone project, with the goal of encouraging reflection, creativity, and literacy among her fellow students. Participants wrote about HMTCA’s five core values:

  • Honorable in our Actions

  • Mindful of Diversity

  • Thoughtful Towards Others

  • Creative in our Expression

  • Ambitious in our Scholarly Endeavors

Students shared thoughtful and personal perspectives on what these values mean to them and how they see them in action at HMTCA.

We are pleased to recognize the first place winners, who were honored with certificates of achievement:

  • 8th Grade: Eliana Rios-Segui

  • 9th Grade: Ifeoluwalere Emokpaire

  • 10th Grade: Angel Hernandez

Congratulations to all three winners on their outstanding writing, and thank you to every student who took part. A special thank you to Liliana for her initiative and leadership in creating a competition that celebrates our school’s values and the power of the written word. We hope this is the first of many annual competitions to come.
