All students are expected to complete a rigorous academic curriculum integrated with workplace-based learning opportunities, job shadowing, and internships. The Academy will reflect the high educational outcomes of the State of Connecticut.

All students build their core knowledge by taking classes required to earn a high school diploma in the state of Connecticut. The Academy places a special focus on math, science and English as building blocks to success.

Students also participate in courses to learn how science and math are used to design and construct the equipment, structures, and power/energy sources that impact our world. Students explore concepts of Earth-friendly technologies and the role they can take in preserving natural resources. Students will work with local companies and agencies in Hartford for on-site learning opportunities, which may include visiting to high-tech manufacturing and alternative energy companies, listening to guest speakers, job shadowing, and participating in internships.
