Congratulations to the Sport and Medical Sciences Academy for winning the 2026 Division III Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference State Championship in boys basketball!
At HPS, we're raising the bar in academics, athletics, and the arts… and on Sunday we saw that commitment on full display. Hartford Public High School also rose all the way to the Championship game in Uncasville at Mohegan Sun Arena. Fighting hard, they fell by only 3 points and are now the Division 5 Runners-up in the State Championship! Go, Owls! You can't rock the Pub!
We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes, coaches, educators, families, and every stakeholder who continues to pour into our young people.
As our Superintendent and CEO, Dr. Andraé Townsel states, Hartford Public Schools better days are not behind us, they are happening right now and they are still ahead of us.
Hartford is rising. Hartford is winning. Hartford is here to stay!
