This week and next are basketball play-off weeks for our HPS teams. On March 2, HPS Middle School Girls champs, the Jayhawks fell – by 1 point– to Achievement First. The room was filled with super-high energy with fans and cheerleaders cheering loudly, our mascot dancing up a storm, while our players, with grit and grace, left it all on the floor of the HMTCA gymnasium.
Both the High School Girls and Boys Greater Hartford Conference (GHC) Basketball Championship games were played March 4. The GHC Girls Championship CREC Aerospace/International Co-op took on our Weaver High School team at Weaver, and the Weaver Beavers clinched the win, taking home the GHC 2026 title, plus Coach of the Year!
The High School GHC Boys Championship pitted Hartford Public High School against Sport and Medical Sciences Academy at SMSA, with the HPHS Owls taking home the trophy!
Cheer on our teams!!! The HPS Middle School Boys basketball championship game has been shifted to March 6th. The game will be played at 4pm at SMSA; It will be the winner of [Global vs. MLK] VS. the winner of [Achievement First vs. Noah Webster!]
