Congratulations to Renzulli Gifted and Talented Academy 5th grade student, Samuel James on his appointment to the cabinet of the new CT Kid Governor. The CT Kid Governor program helps 5th grade students learn about the three branches of state government, the role of the governor, why elections are important, the history of voting in the United States and Connecticut, leadership and civic participation.
Samuel's platform was dedicated to cyberbullying prevention. You can watch his campaign video here.
The Kid Governor’s Cabinet will be led by 2026 Kid Governor Theresa “Tessa” Hallinan and will include the six finalists in the November '25 Statewide Election. The Cabinet will meet monthly to advise Kid Governor-Elect Tessa, discuss how they can support Tessa’s campaign platform in their own communities, and collaborate as they advance their own three-point platforms. January 23, 2026 will be Inauguration Day at Connecticut’s Old State House. The 2026 Kid Governor, Cabinet Members, and their classes attend in person and participating classes can watch live online! The snow date is January 30, 2026.
