Civics Academy at Kennelly

The CT Judicial Branch’s facility for the Civics Academy is a program that pairs up Judges and Atty Ed Wilson teaches at Civics Academy lawyers to present on democracy to 5th grade classrooms throughout the State. On 11/25/25, HPS Executive Director of Legal and Labor Relations, Attorney Edward Wilson Jr. presented at two Kennelly School 5th Grade classrooms with Judge Droney, and then with Judge Baio to another class.

Last year, Attorney Wilson coordinated Raheem Mullins (CT Chief Justice of the Supreme Court) to visit West Middle School. Other schools in our district have taken advantage of this opportunity as well. The students get excited to meet a judge and hear the presentation.
