Weaver High School Students Compete in Business Case Competition

On February 10, Weaver High School students from their school’s Insurance and Finance Career Pathway participated in a Business Case Competition hosted by Capital Community College and Travelers. This is the fourth year for this program in which students work in groups to review a business case, this year, regarding solutions for electronic de-icing for safe foot traffic, community beautification efforts, helping children who behave violently, creating a youth sports, activity, and community center to help students and the community with healthy supports, and affordable housing.  Teams have two hours to discuss the case, create a presentation, and practice their presentation.

Every team did a phenomenal job of working together and creating engaging presentations with thoughtful recommendations. The winning team, Shakera Lowe, Geanna Knight, and Kieshaun Tucker, each received gift cards, with the second place team receiving CT State Community College - Capital swag.

Following the competition, students enjoyed lunch while networking with several professionals who were in attendance. Special thank s to CT Stae Community College at Capital and Travelers!
