Hartford Public Schools has been awarded the NAMM Foundation's prestigious "Best Communities for Music Education 2026" award for the 5th consecutive year!
This recognition is a testament to the many layers of support our district provides for music education — from administration, community engagement, and funding to the incredible dedication of our music educators. When measured against districts across the country, Hartford Public Schools stands out, and this award reflects that commitment at a district-wide level.
The survey components that qualify us for this award speak to the strong foundation our district has built, and now we have the opportunity to build on that foundation even further.
We celebrate and commend the programs and staff that have made this achievement possible, and we hope this honor serves as both a celebration and a call to action —because every student deserves access to a quality music education. We look forward to the day when even more of our students can experience the gift of music firsthand.
As we move forward, we are excited about opportunities like the upcoming string orchestra festival, where four of our schools will have the privilege of performing. This is a wonderful showcase of what is possible when students are given the opportunity to learn and grow through music.
