Earlier this year, HPS’ schools were asked to nominate one teacher who exhibits exemplary teaching skills and a commitment to the belief that all children can learn and succeed. A district-wide committee made up of HPS’ directors, officials from the Hartford Federation of Teachers, and previous Teacher of the Year winners narrowed the group to three finalists after an intensive screening and interview process. Those finalists were Lindsay Hansen, a Dance Teacher at Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts - Upper School; Taylor Miller, a Special Education Teacher at Milner Middle School; and Adam Lynch, a Mathematics Teacher at Bulkeley High School. After reviewing each finalist’s written essays and the recorded classroom lessons, the committee chose Mr. Lynch as the 2026 Teacher of the Year.
