Global Communications Academy Custodians

October 2 is National Custodians Day 2026 and we're celebrating our own all week long! Please see some heartfelt messages from our schools to their custodial staff, below.

Shauna Willis, our head custodian at Betances Learning Lab, positively impacts all stakeholders. You can find her building relationships with students, quickly responding to all custodial needs and proactively supporting areas of need, collaborating with the renovation stakeholders, assisting the admin team and main office with deliveries, storage materials, and more. We are extremely grateful for Shauna’s partnership and support for Betances. Please enjoy the photos of Shauna in action!

Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts holds deep appreciation for its dedicated custodial team, whose hard work behind the scenes keeps our vibrant artistic community safe, clean, and thriving every single day. The Kinsella family recently gathered to extend a heartfelt celebration to Head Custodian Carlos Perez as he prepares for his next exciting chapter. After years of dedicated service maintaining our school facilities, Carlos is moving into a new position within the district as a professional painter. We are immensely grateful for his tireless dedication and leadership, and while he will be deeply missed in our hallways, we wish him the absolute best as he brings his talents to this bright new role.

Keith McGregor and Rayvin Parker create a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for our staff and students. Whether they are preparing our halls for a new day of learning, handling quiet emergencies behind the scenes, or greeting students and staff with a warm smile, their dedication shapes the heart of our school. We are endlessly grateful for their hard work, pride in our building, and all they do to make the Classical and Renzulli community a wonderful place to grow!

I am always impressed with the connectedness and impact our custodians have on our students. They are always happy to see our kiddos and make them feel welcome with special handshakes and conversations of positivity, like Wendell Lee in the photo. They also work extremely hard in such a large building to keep the hallways sparkling!

The custodial team at Global Communications Academy/Hartford Pre-K Magnet School and Adult Education school deserves the highest praise for their exceptional dedication and hard work. Day in and day out, they maintain a spotless, welcoming environment that does not go unnoticed.

A clean and well-kept school does so much more than just look nice; it sends a powerful message to our entire community. By keeping the classrooms, hallways, and common areas pristine, the custodial staff demonstrates a deep respect for our students and families. It shows our children that their education happens in a place that values them, and it reassures parents that their kids are learning in a safe, healthy, and cared-for environment.

Thank you to our incredible custodial team for your tireless efforts and for making our school a place we can all be proud of.
